Why Compass Exists

Compass Baptist Church exists to make God's wisdom known to a lost and dying world and to bring Him glory.

(Ephesians 3:10)

Our objective is to train, equip, support and motivate every member so that they are able to take up where Jesus left off in reconciling the world to God through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What We Value at Compass

At Compass Baptist Church our behaviour is guided by the following core values:

  • Our final authority in all matters of faith and practice is the Bible.

    (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • Our love for God is expressed in our obedience to His Word.

    (John 14:15, 23)

  • Our worship of God is expressed by how we live our lives.

    (Romans 12:1-2)

  • Our love for the brethren is the evidence of our discipleship.

    (John 13:34-35)

  • Our responsibility is to fulfill the Great Commission

What We Believe at Compass

  • There is only one God who exists as three equally divine persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

    (Isaiah 45:5-6, 1 John 5:7)

  • Mankind has sinned, become estranged from God and is destined for eternal punishment in Hell.

    (Romans 3:10-12, 23, Romans 5:12-14, Psalms 9:17)

  • Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, lived a sinless life among men, died on the cross for man's sin and was raised again on the third day.

    (Romans 12:1-2)

  • By His sinless death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has become the saviour of all men and the only way to reconciliation with God.

    (Acts 4:10-12, John 14:6)

  • Anyone that calls upon the name of Jesus, shall be saved.

    (Romans 10:9-13, John 3:16)
